A couple of things to keep in mind if you are considering a new opportunity at WPCU or myCUmortgage:

Please make sure you meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in Management Practice 1-24 Internal Transfers and Promotions before posting for a transfer or promotion:

  • To qualify for a transfer or promotion to a corporate office or member help center position that reports to the Partner’s current director or a member center position that reports to the Partner’s current regional director, a Partner needs to have been in his or her current job for at least six months.
  • To qualify for a transfer or promotion to a corporate office or member help center position that reports to a director outside of the Partner’s current reporting structure or a member center position that reports to a regional director outside the Partner’s current reporting structure, a Partner needs to have been in his or her current job for at least twelve months.
  • A part-time Partner applying for a full-time position within his or her department needs to have been in his or her current position for at least six months.
  • A Partner cannot have any documented performance issues within the six months before applying for a new WPCU or myCUmortgage job.
  • Cooperative Growth Exceptions: As WPCU continues to grow, the organization realizes the need to be flexible in allowing internal talent to move to new opportunities to best support the three stakeholder model. As a result, partners may apply for any net new (meaning a brand new position, not a backfill or replacement) job openings without meeting the six or twelve month requirements listed previously.
    • Partners who wish to apply for net new positions without meeting the position tenure requirements must gain approval from their director-level manager as well as the director, human resources prior to applying.
    • All other tenants of eligibility listed in this practice still apply, and partners must still interview, be qualified for, and be selected to fill the net new positions by the hiring managers.

Corporate Growth Exception  - As you know we have guidelines when a position posts. Management Practice 1-24.11 Cooperative Growth Exception  In general, you have to be in your position (department) for one year before you can apply. However, if the position is a 'Net New' opportunity (not a backfill or replacement) it may fall under the Cooperative Growth Exception.    You would need to acquire prior approval from you Regional Director and then from Josh Hayes - Director of Human Resources before you could apply.
